Center for Achievement
About Us
The Center for Achievement opened in September 2010 under the direction of William V. Smith, Ed.D, Principal of Saint Mary Elementary School and Campus Administrator for Special Programs. The goal is to provide support and educational strategies to the diverse community of learners who attend the Saint Mary Campus Schools. This program is unique to Catholic Education in the Diocese of Trenton.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a daily support structure integrating classroom instruction with learner-centered technology. Our enhanced program of instruction provides an atmosphere that is a conducive academic environment for all participating students.
Saint Mary Elementary School
The core of the Center for Achievement at the Saint Mary Elementary School is the Trail Blazers Program which emphasizes the following:

Mater Dei Prep
The Center for Achievement at Mater Dei Prep provides the students with the academic enhancements for success. A key component is the Pathways Program that provides a roadmap to achievement and beyond. The Pathways Program provides students with the opportunity to become proficient in the following:
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills
- Collaboration
- Accessing and Analyzing Information
- Initiative
- Productivity
- Research and Analysis
- Test taking

- Full-time head teachers who possess advanced degrees with specialization in working with diverse learning styles
- Full-time certified guidance counselor
- Tailored academic support for each student
- Wilson Reading utilized when needed at elementary school level
- Service at both campus facilities for middle school age learners
- Mater Dei Prep students provided with their own personal laptop/tablet computer
- Student/Teacher Ratio:

- Saint Mary Elementary School - 5:1 with instructional aide
