Where do I purchase student uniforms?
Uniforms can be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara. Their toll free number is 1.800.441.4122, or visit their store at Union Avenue Plaza, Route 36, Hazlet, NJ.

Where do Saint Mary Elementary School students come from?
Students from any area are welcome to attend Saint Mary Elementary School. The majority of our students come from Middletown and surrounding communities.

Do you have to be Catholic to attend Saint Mary Elementary School?
No. Students of all faiths are welcome; however, pupils are required to take religion classes pertaining to the Roman Catholic faith and attend religious services with their classmates.

Do we have to be members of Saint Mary Parish?
No. Families of all parishes may attend Saint Mary Elementary School.

What are the school hours?
During a regular school day, classes begin at 7:55 am and school is dismissed at 2:25 pm Our half-day school schedule runs from 7:55 am until 12:05 pm

When does World Language instruction begin?
Students begin World Language classes in kindergarten.

What type of standardized tests are administered?
Saint Mary Elementary School administers the Terra Nova Achievement Test to students in grades two through seven during the spring semester.

Will my child be expected to take mid-term and final examinations?
Only students in the eighth grade will be responsible for taking mid-term and final examinations.

What are the requirements for honor roll?
Students in Grades 6 through 8 may achieve honor roll status based on the following:
- High Honor Roll: An average of 93% or higher in each class.
- Honor Roll: An average of 85% or higher in each class.

Will my child take field trips at Saint Mary Elementary School?
Field trips are scheduled by teachers for educational enrichment throughout the year.

What type of transportation is provided?
Students living further than 2.0 miles from school will be provided bus transportation by the local Board of Education who determines eligibility and bus routes. All others must use private transportation.
